Pedalling for Purpose: Highlights from the 2026 K2C Cycle Tour

On Saturday, 20 June 2026, five pelotons rolled out for the iconic K2C Cycle Tour, proudly presented by the Rotary Club of Hoedspruit. Far more than a 100 km ride, this annual flagship event brought together passionate cyclists, support teams, and conservationists for an unforgettable journey through the heart of the Greater Kruger.

Riding Through the Wild Heart of the Lowveld

Cyclists traversed breathtaking savannah landscapes under open skies, experiencing the raw beauty of the Lowveld across three extraordinary private nature reserves:

  • Timbavati Private Nature Reserve

  • Thornybush Game Reserve

  • Kapama Game Reserve

These world-class private reserves opened their gates exclusively for the tour, offering participants a truly unique vantage point of South Africa’s untamed wilderness.

Spotlighting the Agama in 2026

Each year, the K2C Cycle Tour highlights a specific indigenous species to boost awareness for local wildlife preservation. For 2026, the striking agama lizard took centre stage. Its vibrant colors inspired this year’s official yellow and blue cycling gear, featuring a bespoke agama illustration created by renowned artist Warren Cary.

Driving Real Local Impact

Every kilometer covered on the trail translates into direct support for regional development. Funds raised by the Rotary Club of Hoedspruit power essential projects across the Lowveld, including:

  • Critical wildlife conservation and anti-poaching operations

  • Community upliftment programs and local education initiatives

  • Essential regional emergency and support services

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Partners

An event of this magnitude relies heavily on strong partnerships and collective effort. Rotary Hoedspruit extends its sincere gratitude to Timbavati, Thornybush, and Kapama. Beyond granting access to their pristine lands, their teams provided 12 months of invaluable guidance, logistical support, and hands-on collaboration.
