Rotary Hoedspruit has won the sought after award for creating the best website in their Region 9400 which includes the four northern South African provinces, Mozambique, Botswana and eSwatini.
Just days before lockdown Rotarian, Lovelle Henderson, suggested that Rotary Hoedspruit update their website to showcase the club’s impressive fundraisers, its charitable projects and to share their happy fellowship, believing that this would captivate more interested members.
She put together a team comprising fellow Rotarians Monika Golightly, Jill Ovens and Hazel Partington who were responsible for writing all the material, editing and sourcing photographs and videos to supply to local web designer Katie Nicolle of Katie Nicolle Consultancy. Katie’s task was to move the new website to a more user friendly platform so that Rotary could update information easily on an ongoing basis. Monika Golightly says “I was thrilled to be so busy and stimulated during lockdown.”
Lovelle was so pleased with the result that she decided to enter it into the 2019/2020 Regional Image competition. At the same time she entered the Face Book page which won an award for “Good Effort.” She also submitted all the amazing press articles that the club had achieved during that period in the “best publicity achieved in traditional media” section and was thrilled to be “Highly Commended” in that category.
District Governor, Annemarie Mostert says “This is absolutely amazing! Well done and congratulations on these amazing awards.”
