The above Kruger2Canyon News article embodies the immense pride of our Club in celebrating the success of our annual fundraising Rotary K2C Cycle Tour, through four private reserves alongside the Kruger National Park. A successful awards function was held on 9th September at the Fig and Bean Restaurant to pay tribute to each and every person involved in the accomplishment of this unique cycle tour.
Rotarian Paul White, one of the main drivers in making the Cycle Tour happen, was awarded the ‘Rotarian of the Year’ award by President Wilana Manderson. Congratulations Paul!
President Wilana then presented monetary awards to the following recipients. The following Private Nature Reserves, Timbavati, Thornybush, Kapama and Blue Canyon were each awarded R25 000. Farm Watch received R15 000 and Town Watch received R10 000. The Timbavati Foundation and Jahara received R5 000 respectively. Debbie Thomson received R3 000 for her invaluable assistance.
Bertus Myburgh representing BUCO, our major sponsor, in appreciation received a framed cyclist shirt.
